Soda Siphon – Sparklets London 1930

In the 1930s, Londoners danced to the sounds of live music in the capital's dance halls, and soda water was cherished as never before. For our Sparklets London Soda Siphon, however, it was also the era when it sparkled in British film scenes.

London in the 1930s

In the 1930s, London's population boomed. The Art Deco movement became popular in painting, furniture design, and architecture. Londoners danced to “Knees Up Mother Brown”, sung by live bands in dance halls and parks.

It was also time for Sparklets Ltd. to present the D-Type siphon, a successor to the C-Type which was released in 1920. The new Sparklets London Soda Siphons were produced in high numbers.

A restored original

Each of our restored soda siphons is an original from the 1920s. These were manufactured to very high standards of durability and craftsmanship. All replacement parts used by us are either original or were specially manufactured by us for this purpose. This ensures that the original condition is preserved as far as possible. Despite their age, the restored siphons can also be used in everyday life – they don't need to be handled with kid gloves.

Scope of delivery

This soda siphon is the so-called D-Type. It is a technical further development of the C-Type model from the 1920s. New is the non-return valve, which allows the cartridge holder to be removed during operation. The mouth-blown glass bottle with more corrosion-resistant wire mesh was manufactured in Czechoslovakia between 1930 and 1940.
