In a time of hedonistic indulgence and glitz, London experienced a cultural revolution that in many ways caused waves of modernisation. Seltzer water was always a staple of the cocktails of the era, and so the Sparklets London Soda Siphon quickly captured the younger generation too.

The First World War was over and the “Roaring Twenties” began – it was the era in which English society was modernised. While the invention of the gramophone record revolutionised music, whisky-based cocktails became the favourite drink of the younger generation. Carbonated drinks were becoming increasingly popular. Consequently, the company Sparklets Ltd. in London began production of the C-type London Soda Siphon.
The siphon culture, the new chic, took England by storm. Seltzer bottles were now ubiquitous in London's cigar and jazz clubs, as well as in dance halls where gin and tonics and whiskey sodas were served. Our Sparklets London Soda Siphon has become a symbol of an entire era.
Each of our restored soda siphons is an original from the 1920s. These were manufactured to very high standards of durability and craftsmanship. All replacement parts used by us are either originals or have been specially manufactured by us for this purpose. This ensures that the original condition is preserved as much as possible. Despite their age, the restored siphons can also be used in everyday life – they don't need to be handled with kid gloves.
The soda siphon is a so-called C-type (meaning the cartridge holder remains on the seltzer bottle during operation, which is characteristic of the 1920s models). The hand-blown glass bottle was manufactured in Czechoslovakia between 1920 and 1930.
The original holder is only present in about a third of all traps. If the original holder is lost, the delivery includes a metal holder specially manufactured for us, designed in a similar style to the original holders.
